Booties by Bri(anna) Frisch

Hi Everyone, my name is Brianna Frisch and while this project is not about me, I think it's important to share some information about myself to those of you looking to donate or receive/purchase booties from me.

My Bubbie (grandma) first taught me to knit when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Other than a few scarves in high school with little utility, I didn't really knit until a few years ago when my cousin got pregnant. Then another cousin got pregnant, then a friend, and so it's been for the past few years knitting baby blankets and booties.

On April 9, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a friend sent me a photo of her first baby but minutes old. At that moment, it truly hit me that while the world may be at a bit of a standstill, some things in life can't be put on hold. Most importantly, babies will continue to be born.

It was then that I had the idea to start Booties by Bri. I was looking for an authentic, meaningful way to give back to those who may be struggling more than myself during this crisis and providing a pair of homemade booties to parents of a new baby feels like a good way to do that. Plus, it now makes my time sitting in front of the TV during self-quarantine productive. Thank you to all of those who have contributed to making this idea a reality!
